WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

THE RUN FOR A MILLION is not your standard horse show. This unique event offers exciting Reining, Reined Cow Horse and Cutting competition at the highest levels. All aspects of this event are either by invitation, or qualification, except for the $100,000 OPEN SHOOT OUT. We welcome riders from all across the globe to enter and get the chance to participate in the MILLION DOLLAR COMPETITION in 2024!

MEDICATIONS POLICY

$1,000,000 Run For A Million Competition, August 19, 2023 Every exhibitor’s horse in this competition will have a blood sample drawn, and urine when possible, by a licensed veterinarian for testing for illegal substances, or legal substances outside approved limited as defined in the rules of the National Reining Horse Association Handbook. THE RUN FOR A MILLION MEDICATION POLICY ADDITION: All forms of tranquilizing agents including Romifidine, or any generic/compounded version thereof, are considered illegal substances.  Any horse, found with illegal substances or legal medications outside the defined limits, will be disqualified. Tests will be submitted by a licensed veterinarian to the NRHA designated independent lab testing facility. Horses who test positive for illegal substances, or legal substances outside the approved limits will be disqualified from competition, resulting in forfeiture of all cash and prize winnings. Disqualified horses/exhibitors will not receive any reimbursements for competition expenses including but not limited to entries, stalls, feed, bedding, hotels and transportation.

$100,000 Added Open Shoot Out & 2024 Million Dollar Competition Qualifier, August 18, 2023 Any horse who scores a 226.5 or higher, from the start of the competition at 8:00AM, will have a blood samples drawn for testing. BLOOMER ROOKIE CHAMPIONSHIP – WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 16 | 8:00AM

Eligibility is based on NRHA Category 5 Ancillary Rookie 2 rules. Entries must qualify at an approved Host Event in order to participate. NRHA Category 11 Approved.

$50,000 ADDED NONPRO CHAMPIONSHIP – THURSDAY, AUGUST 17 | 8:00AM

ENTRIES NOT RECEIVED BY AUGUST 1 WILL INCUR A $350 LATE FEE

This special event is open to all riders, including Non Professionals, and horses of any age and breed. There will be one round to be held on Friday, August 19. ​Riders may enter up to three horses. See entry from and schedule for complete information. NRHA Category 1 Approved. The top five placings, will be guaranteed a spot in the 2024 MILLION DOLLAR COMPETITION. (Ties for fifth place must run off or management may choose another option to break the tie.)
