About the West Coast Reining Championships
The West Coast Reining Championships (WCRC) is a regional championship program created to recognize and reward the Open, Non Pro, Novice Horse, Rookie, Green Reiner and Youth exhibitors who form the foundation of the reining industry.
Beginning in 2027, WCRC will connect a network of Official WCRC Host Qualifying Events throughout the Western United States and Western Canada, creating an accessible and economical pathway for exhibitors to compete close to home, qualify through established regional events, and advance to an annual championship in Las Vegas, Nevada.
At Official WCRC Qualifying Events, WCRC divisions run concurrently with existing NRHA classes, allowing exhibitors to pursue qualification without an additional competition run. Exhibitors placing in the Top Five, including ties for fifth place, in their WCRC division earn their qualification to compete at the West Coast Reining Championships.
Qualification is based on the rider, not the horse, giving qualified exhibitors flexibility in selecting the horse they bring to Las Vegas, subject to applicable competition and eligibility requirements.
A Championship Worth Qualifying For
The journey may begin at a regional show, but the destination is something special.
The annual West Coast Reining Championships will be held in conjunction with the High Roller Reining Classic at the South Point Arena & Event Center in Las Vegas.
WCRC is designed to give ancillary exhibitors more than another class to enter. Qualified exhibitors will arrive in Las Vegas having earned their place in a championship created to recognize their achievement and elevate their entire competition experience.
Championship titles, trophy saddles, custom Gist buckles, premium awards, added prize money, on-stage draws, special award presentations, exhibitor celebrations and social events will come together to create an experience worthy of becoming a West Coast Champion.
At its core, WCRC is about strengthening regional reining, encouraging participation close to home, recognizing the exhibitors who support those events, and creating a new championship pathway that brings the Western United States and Western Canada together in Las Vegas.
